What Do I Know, Anyway? Experts! [bemused]

Once again, months after reality was established here, the “experts” are finally catching up. A recent example is when Charles Krauthammer said he was finally getting the Trump effect. People had tired of the same old formulaic, often weak-kneed Republicans and wanted something new. They found Trump’s brash delivery irresistible. That was on FOX Special Report about a month ago.

Streetpolitics.us had already established that before there was a Trump running for office. It’s a source of frustration that this site hasn’t hit its stride yet, despite being ahead of everyone on most things and having a solid grasp of today’s political climate. It has led, and will continue to lead to a string of I-told-you-so posts. That is not for the pleasure of just saying it, although it can occasionally be fun.   The intention is to point to lessons learned in the hopes we don’t have to learn them again. Sadly, until Street Politics gains a real niche, I told you so will be a frequent message.

Gee, thanks, Judge!

The latest unwitting convert to clear thinking is Andrew “Judge” Napolitano, a popular commentator on FOX and FOX Business. He was commenting on a story about the FBI’s unethical whitewash of Clinton’s illegal server. It seems the agent who ran the investigation has resigned from the FBI in protest. He said the investigation went “sideways”. In other words, there was a lot of activity, lots of interviews, lots of immunities granted without requiring testimony. But there was never any real progress. Progress was never intended. The last straw was that no grand jury was seated to hear the mountain of evidence showing Hillary Clinton heading up at least one, likely two criminal enterprises.

So Much for “Experts”…

Napolitano was so smug. “This investigation was never going to go anywhere,” he opined after the fact. It was as if he knew it all along. This would be the same Andrew Napolitano who said for months that since the FBI was running and investigation, Clinton was in REAL trouble! That James Comey is a REAL professional. He wasn’t going to get caught up on all that DC corruption.

Well, readers at this site knew months before everybody (with the possible exception of Judicial Watch) that the FBI was slow-walking the investigation with the intention of running out the clock. The idea was to get as close to the nomination as possible. The Clinton team, including James Comey, wanted to make Clinton’s candidacy a fate accompli. I suspect it early on and called it before Comey disgraced himself and whored away his career in front of congress.

Call this braggadocio, if you wish. My point is to establish the value of this site and encourage you to filter what you see and hear through streetpolitics.us. It isn’t necessary for you to agree with my conclusions. But you can be sure that you are getting informed input. I am clearly in no one’s pocket, as no one pays me but me.

Making the Old New Again

Another bit of breaking news in the last couple of days: Obama sent official documents to Hillary on her unsecured, illegal server. My God! That means he lied to us – TWICE – in one-on-one interviews. Barry O says he first learned about the illegal server by watching the news.

Call me crazy, but didn’t we learn he had a pseudonym for use in communication with the illegal server about 5 months ago? Didn’t we establish the lies to credulous “journalists” on video then? Why is this breaking news? And why didn’t the investigation include Barry’s release of classified documents onto the interwebs in concert with BJ Bill’s wife?

We’ll likely never know the answers to these questions. Congress is too weak and inept to do their job and the press is too interested in elevating the worst president in history to the level of Washington and Reagan.

A Lesson in Lib Think!

I am working very hard, here and on Social Media, to prevent the desecration of the Oval Office.  By that I mean I want to defeat Trump and the felon.  But I decided to take a short break to provide a lesson in Lib Think.

Despite my incredibly low opinion of him, I have to throw the bullshit flag when he is right but the world is getting the vapors over something he said.  The media have their collect panties in a bunch over Trump not promising to respect the election results in November.  Chris Wallace asked if he would and he said he’d wait and see if he’ll respect the returns.  It was a throw-back to an equally ridiculous question posed at the first GOP debate when Bret Baier.  He asked who among the candidates would NOT promise to support the eventual nominee.  All hands should have gone up.  That would be the responsible answer.  But only Trump’s hand went up.

Picture this.  Two nine-year old boys are standing on a garage roof.  One says to the other, “Okay, I’ll jump into the baby pool down there.  But no matter what happens, you have to promise to jump too.  Do you promise?”

That is the level of stupid loaded in the questions above.  Last year, who among the candidates could know whether the eventual nominee might do or say something that would be just too egregious to support?  What if Marco Rubio came to suspect Chris Christie of something very wrong?  It got even more pathetic when North Carolina required candidates to sign a pledge to support a nominee before the primaries were held.

This week, on his usually inept, fumbling fashion, Trump said he would wait and see before he supported the election results.  The incredibly arrogant Barack Obama sullied his office by not only entering the fray on this issue, but stated that Trump was dangerous.  Oooooo! How ominous that someone should say that they need to see an event occur before pledging to uphold the results of the event.

Clearly, Obama thought Al Gore was a dangerous, unpatriotic villain for daring to question the results in Florida.  Hey, W was declared the winner.  That’s it!  Everyone shut up and go to bed, right?  And how about that treasonous John Kerry saying he got robbed in Ohio?  What an anti-democratic bastard!  How dare he speak his mind when he thinks something might be amiss.  We Americans need to sit down and keep our mouths shut, no matter what happens on election day.  The last thing we need people doing is shaking the foundation of our republic by saying ANYTHING about an election like these two monsters did.

Never mind seeing Democratic operatives BRAGGING about how they use dead people, criminals and illegal immigrants to vote.  We need to pretend we didn’t hear that Clinton’s people were hiring losers to start fights at Trump rallies.  Trump is just anti-American.  Trump’s opponent is a black hole where ethics go to die.  But he is supposed to assume she won’t stoop to any low to get what she wants.  He should just put his hand in the air and swear to support the winner, no matter what.

To all the pundits blathering about how terrible Trump is over this episode, well… let me be succinct. SHUT UP, YOU DROOLING SHIT BAGS!  Trump may be the second worst presidential candidate in history, but he is right on this.

The Lesson:

The left and everyone in the media know Trump is right on this issue.  But it doesn’t fit their political plan.  So they must take truth and turn it around 180 degrees and make it lie.  Then take a lie and do the same thing, magically making it truth. A similar example is how they cried all last month about the Russians rigging our election and scoffing endlessly at Trump for saying – CORRECTLY – that the Dems are rigging the vote all over the country.

Keep following the 24-Day Revolution.

The 24 Day Revolution! Stun FOX and CNN!

One of my favorite political memories was the stunned looks on some of the cable news faces when Bush won in 2000.  Wolf Blitzer, on CNN, looked as if he’d been tased. I’d love to relive that moment.  But I’d like to add Sean Hannity to the list of people who should be seen loosing bowel control on the air.

The media are now so smug in their assumptions.  They carried Clinton and Trump.  They gave them tons of free press through the primaries.  Then they retired to their editorial corners and declared that it can only be Trump or Clinton.  Any mention of another possibility is ridiculous.  If you listen to people, you’d get the impression the general population has bought this line once again.

BUT…for those sickened by the race to the bottom we are witnessing, for those who don’t see any redeeming qualities in the “republican” or the “democrat”, we have something going for us we’ve never had before; numbers.  Huge numbers.

Think about it.  The polls are now polling likely voters.  People who actually vote make up less than half the voting age population.  Clinton and Trump polling the 40’s indicates that each candidate has the support of about 20% of the voting population.  That leaves up to 60% of American adults are available to a third, fourth or fifth party.

I would wager a good number of those people would like to cause Sean or Wolf to piss their pants.

That is what the 24 Day Revolution is all about.  The idea is to simply continue to share this argument as it unfolds in text and video.  By repeatedly exposing people to the idea that they are not the property of the major parties they may start to feel their value and independence as voters.

WARNING! States have different rules about how close to an election you can register.  So if you are not registered but want to be a part of the Revolution, REGISTER TO VOTE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!

DREAM WITH ME!

Imagine the reporting on 8 November, and the morning after, if the electoral results were rolling in and all the pundits turned out to be wrong!  It will be laughable to watch them try to make sense of it.  Can you see the House and Senate members racing to the microphones trying to convince everyone they knew this was coming all along?

Hillary would go into hiding, that smug smirk knocked off her face permanently (perhaps it would be a learning moment for her).  Trump, of course, would be telling anyone who would listen that it was “all rigged and unfair, very unfair.  Believe me.”  To which we could all happily say, “You’re welcome.”

We can do this!  We can have a better president and sit back and watch them all scramble to understand it.

IT’S UP TO US!

I’m not going to say you don’t have the right to vote for anyone you wish.  But if either of the two creatures the media and the major parties foisted on us gets into office, those who voted for them have a hand in doing grave harm to our country.

This isn’t the first time I am saying all this, but the context is different.  We have a chance to do something amazing.  Listed here are just a few of dozens of reasons to try.

Hillary will happily drive the nation and the economy into the dirt.  We aren’t far from there already, as we will see when the Fed finally stops spoon-feeding Wall Street [1. Kept alive by artificial means, the stock market is completely removed from the actual state of the economy.  When the quantitative easing gravy train roll to a stop, the market will reflect the condition of the wider economy.  That, my friends, will be a dark day indeed.].

What would Hillary Milhouse Clinton do when the Fed finally can’t carry her as they did Obama?  If you are intellectually honest you know the answer to that.  She will seize the opportunity to gather much more power unto herself.  She is without conscience.  She is, as we always knew, in bed, naked and having rabid (financial) monkey sex with the the biggest of the crony capitalists.  The “emergency measures” she would take would dwarf the $2 trillion dollars we pissed away in 2008-2009[2. the bank bailout and the stimulus package]. That wasted money resulted in the executive branch acquiring more power for itself and treating it’s bank and union minions to big fat give-aways.

Some far-left types might say that’s a good thing.  We need a strong central government to fix this country.  I respectfully disagree with the assertion.  But what is not open to argument is that Hillary is not your girl to do that.  She isn’t a true socialist in the mold of Jill Stein.  Hillary has no sense of other.  Hillary cares only for Hillary. Others only exist in her world to serve HER – not the country.  She’s proven this.

I will give you one of countless examples of Hillary in a snapshot.  At the State Department, nothing was permitted to cross her desk that wasn’t a photo op, super good press, face time with Obama or the Clinton “Foundation”.  Just one negative result?  Well, by the time Chris Stevens was begging for more security to run guns all over the Middle East, Hillary was no longer getting any face time on the issue of Libya.[3. This article addresses it indirectly.  As apologetic as the piece is, it is still damning.] While the CIA and Secretary of Defense remember getting Cc’d about the need for security, Hillary doesn’t.  This isn’t an example of her famous, phony amnesia at work.  She really never saw the emails and wouldn’t have done anything about them if she had.  There was no money in it and there was no self-promotion in it.  As a result, four men were killed in Benghazi.  The most amazing thing is she has not had a moment’s remorse over the affair.

In Street Politics, I wrote that her “What difference does it make…” moment was staged, planned for when she ran out of obfuscations.  As it turns out, that is exactly what is was.  She hired a publicity firm to tell her what to say before the committee.  That fact has been public knowledge for a week.  You likely haven’t heard it.

We know it all to be true. My words are not intended for the truly ignorant or the willfully blind.  I am speaking to people who want to do the right thing by this election.

But What About Trump and the Economy

Ah, but what would Donald Trump do when the funny money runs pout and the real economy is laid bare.  He is supposed to be this great CEO, right?  He’s a brilliant businessman, right? Well, no.  That’s quite wrong actually.  to demonstrate Trump’s brilliance they point to The Trump Tower and the casinos he “built.”  Here are the facts.  Trump did find investors excited about being in the big-time and building big things.  The real work, including the writing of “his” books was left to professionals.  Trump didn’t pick them because magically saw a spark of talent in up-and-comers.  He found out who already did what he wanted to have done and doubled their salary.  Trump’s job then, as is has been ever since, was to be the face man.  He’s the court jester, if necessary.  He was to keep investors and buyers entertained and interested.  He was good at that.  It doesn’t take a genius to give a mark anything he wants to keep him happy.

But in the process, Trump ran the finances of these great projects into the ground.  His own bankers said Ivana was more aware of finances than he was.  The result, by the time the bankers were forced to take action, was that all four major Trump projects were in dire straights.  When the dust settled, Trump was out as CEO and put on a generous monthly allowance.  His job was as before; in exchange for the use of his name Trump would continue to receive the allowance and continue the dog-and-pony routine.  Everything he did professionally was done to polish the Trump name.  Not the family name, but the Trump Taj Mahal name.  He was also allowed to bid on facilities maintenance contracts for any projects that used his name.

All this has served him well.  He has gone on to a “Reality” TV gig, where he was fed lines to throw at pretend interns, got paid to put his name on all sorts of projects and stayed in the public eye.  All this was good for him and the companies he lost, but left his name on.

I never faulted Trump for using the bankruptcy laws as they should be used when the companies needed it.  Only jealous losers go on about how rich he is when he had to file bankruptcy.  And his loyal fans say that using those laws are a sign of his hidden genius.  But unlike more short-sighted fans and enemies, I understood the need for those reorganizations and who initiated them as an indication he was in way over his head.   History and this campaign proved me right.  He’s not a genius.  He’s not even a good chief executive.  He is what we see every night on TV.  He is a self-absorbed, inarticulate, immature Twitter fan.

Worse, if he is elected, the Fed won’t attempt to carry him.  They would like nothing more than to pull the rug out and blame a “conservative”[4. This is the price you pay for pretending to believe Trump is a conservative.  He is not.  He never has been.]

When the financial balloon goes up, Trump will revert to type as he does now, even when he knows it is suicidal.  He CANNOT help himself.  He will fume at the Fed.  He’ll say it’s unfair.  He’ll say HE is being treated poorly.  ‘It’s all rigged.”  He’ll say.  Advisors will try to get him to focus and say the right thing.  He will try, but he won’t really understand where they are going and won’t really be interested.  He will obsessively tell everyone it isn’t his fault.

I may be writing for naught anyway.  This is unconfirmed, but I understand Trump is considering starting his own network, like Oprah.  What serious human being would even be daydreaming about that in midst of a bruising political campaign; no matter how loony the campaign had become?

There is more, much more.  Join the revolution!  But don’t vote yet.  Check out McMullin, Johnson and Stein.  If you are honest with yourself, you will see that the Revolution is correct.  We can do better than Clinton or Trump.

Relax. Breath. Assess.

I wrote this in May and forgot all about it.  It has been in my Draft box since. do I have my finger on the pulse or what?

My son mentioned Gary Johnson in a text today. It is the second time someone had mentioned Johnson in a week. It makes one think. So sit back, relax and consider your alternatives.

I still see Trump-ettes gloating and Cruz-ers complaining on social media sites. The media will make you think there are only two candidates left in the presidential race. And if not for FBI Director James Comey slow-walking the Clinton investigation (he has made the FBI political tool like the IRS), there might have been only one Democrat.

If you look at the polling data, there are more voters dissatisfied with a choice of Trump and the felon than there are people happy about it. I don’t recall a situation like that in recent memory. The number who don’t like or respect either candidate (regardless of their intention to eventually vote for one) is in the vicinity of 60%. That is a critical number. 60% of all voters think the front runners are clownish and immature (Trump) or phony and untrustworthy (BJ Bill’s wife).

This provides the electorate with an opportunity not seen since Lincoln. As I tease this out, keep in mind that in 1860 most people saw Lincoln as an affable oaf. Enough people in the states that participated in the election saw him as honest enough to elect. So cast aside for a moment the grand images we have of Lincoln today, and think like a person who might be in the 60% mentioned above.

The talking heads on all networks like to tsk-tsk and smirk at the idea of a third party run right now, but as I eluded to, the Republican party in 1860 was a lot newer than the leading third party we have today.

The candidate put forward by the Republicans was far less experienced than the leading alternative candidate we have on the ballot in all 50 states this year. Unlike Donald Trump, this candidate has chief executive experience of the kind that is not entirely driven by a what’s-in-it-for-me motivation. In real life, Trump was a financial funnel more than an actual chief executive anyway.

Unlike Hillary Clinton, the alternative candidate hasn’t destroyed women on behalf of an ethically bereft spouse, used his office to strong arm hundreds of millions from foreign governments, or needed the protection of a corrupt president to cover her felonies. And that is just a short list. It is worth mentioning also that EVERYTHING Clinton ever attempted in an official capacity has failed miserably.

In the person of Gary Johnson, a person I tend to agree with about 50% of the time, we have a two-term Governor of New Mexico. A proven anti-tax warrior (Trump wanted to raise them before he wanted to lower them, before he wanted to raise just some of them. Sanders gains an auto-erotic thrill at raising taxes.). Johnson reduced taxes in New Mexico several times and never increased taxes during his tenure.

He is a consistent enemy of run-away national debt. Both Democrats are debt producing machines.

My Wall is Better Than Trump's Silly Wall.

I Still Can’t Believe Trump Is Serious!

In a campaign season dominated by the ridiculous, one recurring theme stands out, Donald Trump’s border wall.  To a person opposed to illegal immigration, as I am, the idea of building a wall to keep illegals out sounds like a good idea – for about six seconds.  It takes very little critical thinking to conclude the idea is not only ludicrous but an unworkable waste of resources.

General George Patton is often quoted as saying, “Fixed fortifications are a monument to the stupidity of man. Anything built by man, can be destroyed by him.” This speaks to the first and most obvious reason we don’t need a wall. From the moment the first shovel of dirt is drawn, efforts to defeat the wall will begin. A physical obstacle, as often as keeping some people out, draws others toward it with a desire to thwart or destroy it. Drug runners and coyotes will enhance their reputations, and thus their paydays, by creating ways to overcome this fixed barrier. If it works at all, it will work for only a short time. Walls, locks, doors, etc. are all created to keep honest people honest. Dishonest or desperate people will eventually render these things obsolete in pursuit of their needs.

The “They-can-do-it, why-can’t-we?” Argument:

Have you heard this old saw? “Israel has a wall and it works!”

Well, it works most of the time. People often do get over, under or around it. And the Israeli wall has a luxury we don’t have in this country – a nearly inexhaustible supply of personnel to man it. They have mandatory service and huge military reserves per capita. These troops need something to do while not fighting a war. To man a 400 mile wall is no great challenge. And it is not against the Israeli Constitution to do so.  Conversely, we have two problems. Our wall is supposed to be almost 2000 miles long. Manning it the way the Israelis man there’s will be mighty unpopular, especially among the soldiers sent to do it. Then there’s the little question of the Constitution.

Oh, I can hear the outcry already from the Wall lovers. Well, Obama didn’t follow the Constitution or the law when he redefined immigrants and even telegraphed his desire to have more people cross the border illegally!

I agree with that 100%. Obama has abetted criminal activity on the part of illegals. He should face charges. He won’t, of course. But you don’t fix that with further debasement of the same laws. This country is not ready to have federal troops manning checkpoints and possibly aiming weapons at us. Civilian entities charged with doing so are stretched thin. They will not be able to cover our Wall the way Israel does theirs. And we have no provision for the Army to do it.

I Stole Donald’s Idea…Sorry.

With all this in mind, and eager to demonstrate how competition is good for the buyer, I hit on an idea last week.  I sent the Mexican Embassy in DC the following email.

To: His Excellency Miguel Basanez Ebergenyi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary

From:  Matt Jordan, Author, Not at all extraordinary.

 Sir,

I have been watching Donald Trump going on about building a wall for a year now.  In his words, “It’s going to be a great wall; a GREAT, GREAT wall.  Let me tell you.”  Then he always goes on to say, “And Mexico is going to pay for it, believe me.”  Why would you do that?  I am not altogether sold on the idea of Trump’s wall, but if Mexico is interested in paying for a wall in the United States, why wait until election day?

I was recently combating erosion on my property and hit upon a brilliant idea.  It’s a win-win for everyone involved.  I already built a wall.  It is…well, perhaps not great…but it’s pretty nice.  And it is very practical.

My idea was to let Mexico pay for this wall instead of the Trump wall.

Think of the advantages with the deal I am offering.  It’s quick, easy and far less expensive than the deal Mr. Trump is offering.  And the work is already done!   Frankly, I don’t see why you would even consider what Mr. Trump is offering.  It sounds terribly pricey and does nothing for the curb appeal of either country.

If you prefer my wall, and IF Donald Trump becomes president and says it’s time to build a wall in the U.S., you can say, “No problem.   We already built one in Mississippi.  But good luck building yours, Donald.”  And if Donald is not elected, his campaign can say,  “Well, at least Mexico was nice enough to pay for a wall, anyway.”   Trump saves face.  Everybody wins!

I’ve taken the liberty of attaching the invoices for my retaining wall.  The total comes to $182.74, USD.  I subtracted $15.26.   You shouldn’t have to pay for my light bulbs too.

 But wait!  There’s more!

In the spirit of international cooperation and because I had a great time in Playa Del Carmen, I am not going to charge you for labor.  So, you have that going for you.

Thank you for your time.  I look forward to your considered reply.  And I sincerely wish you all the best.

 Very Respectfully,

 Matthew E. Jordan III

Yes, I really sent the receipts and pictures of my tiny wall. I hope the Embassy takes the email with the humor intended. I hope they enjoy reading it. I hope they actually cut me a check.

Trump, Wall, Clinton, Mexico
My Wall. An ankle-high marvel of engineering.

Trump, Wall, Mexico, Clinton

Trump, Wall, Mexico

The funniest send-up I’ve seen on the Wall issue was the treatment it received in South Park.  In the episode, Canada decided to build a wall to keep Americans out.  Needless to say, Americans had all the reactions you’d expect.  Insult, resentment, curiosity.  All the Wall really did was to interfere with the natural rhythm of life on the border and hurt both economies.

When asked what Canada was hiding behind the wall, the response was one that will become legend in comedy history: “[long pause]…Don’t worry ah-boot it.”

The Wall That Never Was (A Remake)

Another reason to reject the wall as ludicrous is that it will never, ever be built. I am of the opinion that the wall talk is just a populist rant. It gets good poll numbers among those who believe it. But let’s assume Trump is sincere. He REALLY wants to build the wall. They’ll start it. There will be ribbon cuttings and politicians with chrome-plated shovels turning over clods of dirt. Men with hard hats will move in and get to work. From that day forward, every foot of the structure will be challenged in court. There will be case after case, genuine and frivolous, filed. Most will be from landowners or environmentalists representing every species living within 100 miles of the wall. They’ll all get their hearing. Injunctions will roll out by the wagonload. Work will stop and start. Contractors will have to give up to control losses. After a few years it will be announced that due to costs and interference the wall won’t be built. Or it will just be left to die quietly with no announcement. But I can assure you that at the end of Trump’s tenure, whether it is four or eight years, there will only be a few sparse, abandoned sections of what was intended to be a wall from the southeast tip of Texas to the Pacific. It will be exactly like last time when we were promised a wall in exchange for amnesty for millions of illegals.

The only way we will reduce the numbers of illegals coming into this country is to make it as uncomfortable as possible for those who try. Enforce existing law. No welfare, no food stamps, no Medicaid, no housing assistance for illegals. And damn sure, no Social Security! If churches and charities want to try to provide all that, fine. Their illegal beneficiaries will still be deported when caught.

If the federal government is too corrupt or cowardly to enforce its own laws, states and municipalities have the right to declare themselves illegal alien no-go zones. By not enforcing the law, the federal government forfeits the right to interfere in such enforcement by state and local government. If, for example, Jackson County, MS decides it wants no illegals there, they have a right to pass laws proscribing the hiring or housing of illegals.  It would be the equal opposite of sanctuary cities.  Just watch the real estate values shift!!!

It will take real effort on the part of those against illegal immigration to force corrupt politicians and their crony business partners to follow the law. I doubt 98% of the people reading this will ever lift a finger.

Debate: The Real Result = 0

The first debate of the general election is in the can.  And as I warned repeatedly, in the book and here, all the felon had to do was talk.  She could have recited nursery rhymes.  She may as well have since ALL of her points were general socialist crap the left has been shoveling for decades mixed in with the pretense of economic understanding.

I said on FB last night that by morning CNN would declare Clinton the debate winner and FOX would say Trump won.  Well, I just watched CNN and despite showing four polls to one with Trump as the winner, CNN says the felon won.  At FOX, their own focus group has Clinton winning overwhelmingly and FOX says that Trump won.  Go figure.

The fact is nobody WON last night and the viewers, who hoped to see something significant, lost.  Hillary spent the evening doing her best more-of-the-same routine in front of a nation, 75% of whom think we are headed to hell on a rocket sled.  So Hillary didn’t win – she just didn’t lose.

Except for one moment, Trump was left to repeat the same, tired, tangential blather he always uses when he is not on teleprompter.  He did nail it on TPP for two reasons:  First it is 100% true the Hillary Clinton was totally in the bag for TPP until she saw Trump polling through the roof by being against it.  She immediately flipped.  The second reason he scored is because the tangents he swung through happened to be on topic, so he sounded good.

But basically the Donald that I, the media and BJ Bill’s wife have expected since last year showed up last night and made a hash of the debate.

Make no mistake.  While I am no fan of Trump and warned against his nomination, I am even more an anybody-but-Clinton advocate.  But Trump just did not rise to the occasion last night.  He isn’t capable of doing so.  He missed so many opportunities (cyber security, Benghazi, Syria, economic growth, the Clinton Slush Fund) to slap that silly grin off her face that I was left yelling the lines and ranting to my buddy Dale via IM.

But again, Trump didn’t lose, he just passed on too many opportunities to walk away stronger.

The Trump cult is intact.  The rubes who think “mommy government” should continue to change their diapers are still pulling for Hillary.  And 60% of us are left to continue to shake our heads and wonder how these two could possibly have been nominated.

I’ve said it before.  Gary Johnson is a dorky guy.  But he is a successful, two-term governor dork.  He can also form complete sentences.  If for no other reason but bringing an actual argument to the debate, we need him on that stage.  Hell, Johnson might be the catalyst that keeps Trump on message.  He’ll certainly be a foil against the kind of Clinton pablum which has dominated the left since 1968.  He is up to 13% in recent polls.  Let’s get him over 15% just to shake things up. Just click here.

Gary Johnson and Abortion

Damn it Dale!  You’re making me think!

I have been friends with Dale Romine for years.  I respect his opinions; even the ones I disagree with.  One can’t dismiss Dale out-of-hand.  One has to think to have a conversation with him.  Dale has been reading my posts about Gary Johnson.  He considered my information and came back and said he might have rolled for Johnson, but Johnson was pro-abortion and Dale could not abide that.

The same thought has crossed my mind.  This was my response to Dale:

I have given your last message a lot of thought today. I reject abortion on demand or abortions of convenience. They are the most barbaric abrogations of responsibility we’ve ever seen. I rank it up there with honor killing and forced clitorectomies. I can’t believe a civilized society accepts it. However, on this subject, I think we have little to fear from Johnson. I’ll post the reason I say that tomorrow.

I am going to go out on a limb here and assume that Dale’s views are rooted, at least in part, on Church teachings.  Mine are not.  I have absolutely no truck with the spirit world.  But that doesn’t mean I take the killing of babies for convenience less seriously.  Yes, I said babies.  It’s not a tumor.  You can make up terms that allow you to feel better about yourself, but it’s a baby.  You don’t call a small corn plant a rock and a big one corn.  A row of corn is a row of corn, even before it has matured.  Once the little booger has fingers and toes intellectual honesty demands that you recognize what it is.  It isn’t a zygote.  It isn’t a blastula.  You can call it an embryo, but that does not disqualify the term baby.

As for Johnson, I have read his statements about abortion.  I have seen him in situations where interviewers would bring up abortion in a tone that almost says. “Boo!  Hah! I got you there!”  His position on abortion is passive.  He isn’t against it.  But I imagine if not in a presidential campaign, where he is trying to gain the favor of EVEYBODY he’d likely say abortion is not the government’s job nor is it the taxpayers responsibility.  That would be in tune with his central message.

Now, we are not going to see a change in the abortion laws in the next four years.  There isn’t a solid enough majority in congress to pull that off either way.  And abortion as a critical issue isn’t on Johnson’s radar.  As I always say about Johnson, he will say and do things that piss me off.  But this won’t be one of them.  We don’t agree on everything.  But his overarching trajectory, lower taxes, slashing regulation, growth, free markets are what this country must have if the American Experiment is to survive.  And it is on life-support right now.

Serious Americans Need To Read This!

Are you one of the 60% who disapprove of the two “major” candidates?  Would you like to take control back from the ruling class.  Are you a Democrat sickened by the prospect of voting for Hillary?  Are you a Republican who realizes “the Donald” is a clown and a fraud?  Would you like to do something about it? Let’s see some guts!

To Compare…

Trump talks of growth, and then speaks of tariffs if businesses choose to do business elsewhere.  Can you say trade war? He lowers taxes a little bit and talks of running the government better.  There is no talk of dumping entire agencies.  He is recently sounding quite liberal with his new gimme-gimme policies.  He is both Johnson and Hillary lite.  But I guarantee the reader one thing.  There will be no anti-abotion campaign in a Trump White House.  He voiced four different opinions on the subject in one weekend after saying women should be punished for abortions.  And his stand against abortion, like most of his conservative positions, is new-found.

Hillary?  She’s beneath mention in this context.  The only thing we KNOW that will happen in a Clinton White House is a storm of “progressive” policies, a lot of lying and endless graft.

I’ll say it again.  Johnson will piss off honest people on both sides of the political aisle.  And he will please people on both sides.  But he is a better human being than Trump or Clinton.  He is less of a populist, he is more honest and has a real track record.  Ignore these facts at your peril.

An Un-serious Nation Mourns

Any time I see images of the events of 9/11, and certainly at this time of year I am overwhelmed with three emotions; awe at the heroics of those who those walked into the burning towers, deep sorrow for the pain so many families suffered and a deep, burning hatred for the hijackers and anyone remotely like them.

I am generally an easy-going guy.  I forgive easily.  But unburdened by a mandate to forgive, I keep the hatred of violent religious nut bags fresh within me.  I see no reason to feel any other way about it.  That kind of human sewage deserves every pain that might befall it.

Almost as Disturbing:

But today, in addition to all that, I felt a very disturbing bemusement.  We are 15 years removed from that day.  I expected the experience would have made of us a stronger people.  I’m not alone in having thought on 9/12 that this would be our Great Depression or WWII.  This would be the galvanizing experience that would make my generation and that of my sons finally measure up to our parents’ and grandparents’ generation.  Watching history unfold today, it struck me just how wrong I was.

It only took a couple of years before our collective resolve waned.  We started hearing about how war-weary the country was.  War-weary!  While “thanks for your service” is still heard, and very much appreciated, that is pretty much the extent of what this nation can stomach.  We still haven’t been tested.  Not really.  I often wonder if Americans possess the fortitude to endure a crisis like WWII.  Thousands of telegrams every week for years, reporting the deaths of our sons (and now daughters).  I have my doubts.

We are a nation more worried about safe spaces and politically correct, goddamned restrooms than we are the state of our nation and economy.  We stood by and let an American President cash in our long-term security and that of our allies in exchange for status and kind mention in the Muslim world. (The phony Iran nuke deal and support of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt.)  We are a nation that has placed, at the pinnacle of our national politics, a felon who has known only failure and corruption throughout her entire adult life and a reality TV populist who, to this day, gets his talking points off of Twitter.  We still have a security and intelligence apparatus that stovepipes information.  We allow our government to borrow us into inevitable doom and never question how that government can possibly continue to grow.

I am sure 9/11 changed many individuals.  I am sure there are people who try to do their jobs better, especially military and first responders, because of that day.  For a few years those lessons were likely passed on to the next trainee.  But as a nation, as a people, we have generally gone backward.

Hillary Milhous Nixon or Richard Rodham Clinton?

A Simpler, Happier Time

In the course of investigating a burglary of the Democratic headquarters in Washington, DC, Congress discovered that Richard Nixon had a surreptitious system recording all White House conversations. This was not new. FDR and Ike had such systems, as did Johnson and Kennedy. I have no doubt that every president since has had one. I’ll allow for a smart president who may not have wanted one for fear of taping himself saying something embarrassing.

But in those days it was considered bad form for gentlemen to collect information on others in this fashion. (Yes, there was a time when such things actually meant something.) So it was incumbent upon congress to feign shock and appear to do something. Most historians of the era correctly conclude it was the discovery of the covert tapes that caused momentum to shift against Nixon in front of Sam Irvin’s Watergate committee. A subpoena was issued for the White House audiotapes. The purpose was to see what could be gleaned about the Watergate cover up operation.

To that point, investigators only had hard evidence of a break-in – no one was disputing it at this point – and rumors that Nixon found out about the break-in and tried to cover it up. BUT… the ace kicker that sent the White House into a death spiral was an 18-minute gap in the taped evidence.

To this day, it is not known what was in the missing 18 minutes. It could have been something about the cover up. It could have been something unrelated which was so sensitive that someone decided better to dump it and risk further legal damage than to risk it being played in open committee. Maybe it was something really juicy about Nixon or someone on the White House staff. No one knows. But it could also be that the person transcribing the tapes actually did hit the wrong button, letting the system run before discovering the error, thus taping over conversation. That was the official line at the time.

The general consensus was Nixon tampered with evidence. Few people could be convinced otherwise. At that point Nixon’s impeachment and ultimate conviction in the well of the Senate was considered inevitable. That’s because as corrupt and divided as we saw our government at the time, there was still at least some sense of duty among statesmen. A huge number of politicians in both parties decided to do the right thing. No one circled the wagons and redefined the English language to create a 100% false narrative to protect a party or an individual; not even the President of the United States!

Nixon X 30,000 Documents = Clinton

Flash forward to two years ago. We discovered we had a Secretary of State who was actually the tip of the spear in a criminal conspiracy to breach national security, break several federal records laws and break several sensitive information laws. A short history can be found here.

Later we found out she destroyed federal documents by the thousands. (This could have been avoided if the FBI hadn’t been reduced to a pack of political goons and had followed protocol upon discovering the existence of an illegal server being used to transmit official State communications.) Any single one of these acts was far more insidious than anything Nixon ever dreamed of doing. None of them were a prideful or misguided act to protect underlings. All were cynical, illegal acts performed by the principal suspect to protect herself from mandatory oversight and hide shady, pay-for-play scams with cronies and foreign governments.

And at no point did anyone actually do anything effective to thwart or punish the crimes. Oh sure, Jason Chaffetz and Trey Gowdey have made just enough hay to keep their names in the news, but even they have dragged their feet. The entire Democratic Party apparatus inside the beltway has chosen to embrace seedy corruption over honorable service to their country in allowing Hillary Clinton to walk in the face of SO MANY blatant crimes. The Department of Justice and the IRS have been reduced to thugs covering up the crimes of their betters rather than serving the country.

And this week we hear not only did Clinton destroy documentary evidence, she commissioned a civilian company – which was not cleared to hold the documents to begin with – to destroy their backups almost a full month AFTER subpoenas had been served and preservation orders had been issued for that very evidence.

We’re Not Just Mucking About Here!

The complaints listed here against Hillary Clinton are not vague law school theory. Crimes, serious crime, have been committed. The chief perpetrator is running for president, unmolested. Her co-conspirators still work for her and work for her slush fund. If you were suspected of the same crimes, you’d be jailed without bond pending trial. If you were a similar risk to national security and had the Clintons’ track record for corruption, no judge would let you walk the street after arraignment. Your house would have been torn apart within hours of the server being discovered. You would not have had the months Clinton had to purchase software designed to cover up crime and carefully use it to permanently erase evidence.

This is handcuffs and prison shit, folks. Every day Clinton walks free and is not tossed in the back of a police car is another victory for the political criminals who are wrecking this republic.

How did we ever end up here? At what point did the Democratic Party completely sellout to slime? The Clintons are like the Peanuts character, Pigpen. Everywhere they have gone, for the last 35 years, they have moved in a cloud of blatant corruption. There has always been a stench about them. And yet there is no shortage of people willing to debase themselves by following in their fetid wake.

There is no legitimate media in this country anymore. It is one thing to have an editorial line and spin commentary in favor of one candidate of another. It is something else entirely to ignore rampant crime and corruption and willfully further lies and obfuscation in order to see a candidate win office.

What Will It Take?

Trump once said that if he stood on 5th avenue and shot someone, he wouldn’t loose his following. Does anyone remember the reaction the left had to that remark? So what would it take for them to pull the plug on Hillary and go with Biden or Kaine? Clearly, harming our military and our security doesn’t count for anything.

One needn’t be a naïve boy scout to be disgusted with it all. It isn’t puritanical to be sickened by the prospect of this nation being represented by an arrogant, self-serving felon. You don’t have to be a fanatical patriot to understand the disdain the military holds at the very idea of serving under such a person. Here, I am not speaking of the post-Vietnam “yes” men who populate the high offices of the Pentagon. I am talking about the professional soldiers in the field, officers and enlisted, who still have a sense of honor about them.

It appears doubtful that a very large number of voters share this sense of honor and dignity. If polls are accurate, about 45% of the people still think Hillary Clinton deserves their vote. Is it ignorance of the facts or a lack of fortitude?

Nehlen v Ryan, Kahn v Trump and Other Stinkers

Keep your eye on this Nehlen guy. He is demonstrating, honestly and accurately, how Ryan and his ilk play bitch to “progressives” to make their own incumbency easier to protect.

This and more…

Why So Quiet?

A friend mentioned that I’d gone quite quiet recently. Indeed I have written more in my travel blog than I have Street Politics.

The reason is that the bullshit is piling up so fast on the political front, I can barely keep up with it. With people like Trump and Clinton, where do you begin?

But I’ll do better.

Let’s Dump Ryan and Others!

Things seem to be going poorly for Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan up in cheese country. It seems the folks in Wisconsin are thinking less about the imaginary status having the Speaker as your congressman provides.  They are starting to listen to a new-comer, Paul Nehlen. Nehlen’s resume would indicate he is a smart man. His policy positions are straight-forward. Many of Ryan’s positions are similar, though throttled by inanities and loaded with wiggle room.  Nehlen doesn’t seem to give himself such room to slither around in.

The truth is, Ryan is every bit the sellout his mentor, John Boehner was. He is utterly disinterested in anything that requires real effort on his part, if it doesn’t lead to political dollars and re-election. He is certainly not a conservative! Ryan and his ilk in congress, both houses, have become a national embarrassment.

I’m getting a kick out of listening to all the RINOs now crying that Trump won’t endorse them. Personally, I think it is suicide on Trump’s part to not tout all Republicans down the line.  He would be smarter not to say a single negative thing about another Republican (Chapter 17).  But he can’t help himself. He is not a bright man. Trump does nuance the way a gorilla would do ballet.  Still, to people like Ryan, who said Trump shouldn’t be nominated now whining for his approval is proof that they are not worthy of the offices they seek.

Let’s all send $5.00 to Nehlen and make noise on Facebook and Twitter.  Let’s encourage our friends in Wisconsin to do the right thing and dump Paul Ryan. Let’s get rid of McCain while we’re at it.

Whitman Endorses BJ Bill’s Wife! Hah!

If Christine Todd Whitman, former Governor of NJ, were still a viable entity in politics, this might rile me more.  But it rings of a pathetic has-been exercising her immature urge to shock, and so gain notice.

So Christie, you don’t like Trump.  Join the club.  The line is long and distinguished. But at one time you claimed to have at least SOME principles by which you lived your life.  In this race, you have a serial felon, a reality TV clown and a successful two-term governor, Republican when he served.

Everything Hillary Clinton stands for, except for a few social issues (which should mean little to a TRUE conservative – Chapter 4) are the very antithesis of what you made your life’s work.  Aside from being the most corrupt politician in the last 100 years, beating even FDR, she would preside over the continued deterioration of the U.S. economy.  She would draw power unto herself, without a thought of laws or ethics.

Trump…?  Who the hell knows what he stands for?  His campaign spends every day trying to explain the stupid thing he said yesterday.  As of last weekend, Trump forgot the Russians had taken half of Ukraine.  So, for not endorsing him, you are forgiven.

But then you have Gary Johnson.  He does share positions on some of your social issues.  He likely differs on some other issues as well. I know I disagree with his stand on the military and immigration.  But he isn’t an idiot and he isn’t a felon.  And he was a successful governor; more so than you were.

Have you no dignity, Ms Whitman? Did you actually endorse someone who is a standing insult to everything this country is because you both have vaginas.  Were you stupid enough to buy into that con job?  Here’s a thought.  Why don’t you get together with Hillary and Barbara Streisand and their Democrat friends and form the Vagina Party? Or would that just be redundant?

Trump vs Khan

If you wait long enough, all the smelly shit eventually oozes out, doesn’t it? I will dispense with the now cliche preface of “Sorry for your loss”.  It has been said so many times this week it has lost its meaning, even to the Khan clan. So there we were, watching the couple who lost a son in war 12 years ago. that son was said by Larry Sabato to be a good man and a top-notch soldier.  If Sabato says it, I believe it.  So the greater the tragedy it is.  We need good men like him.

Lo and behold, the Clinton campaign plucks this couple from obscurity.  It seems Khizr Khan sees the banning of Muslims from this country (a false flag, a straw argument) bothers him because his Muslim son died for this country.  We watch as Mr. Khan pulls out his pocket Constitution and scolds Trump on not understanding what is written there.

Sigh, sniff.

But there are some problems here.  We can simply mention that the Constitution makes absolutely no prohibition against a congress or a president throttling immigration in any way they chose, certainly not against the same officials using immigration restrictions as a means of security!  I’d be more comfortable if the immigration moratorium were simply expressed in terms of geography, leaving people’s personal superstitions aside.  But their is still no constitutional restriction even there.

The second problem lies in the Latin question, cui bono?  Whenever something smells funny, like a speaker at a Democrat convention pulling out a pocket Constitution, you should always think of that question; cui bono?  Pocket Constitutions are punchlines in Tea Party jokes.  “Progressives” going all the way back to Woodrow Wilson have chafed at the Constitution.  They insult those who stand by it because it restricts their ability to “manage” the population and all their activities as “progressives” fit.

I knew Khan was a stage prop, but where was the benefit for him? Fifteen minutes of fame?

Well!  It turns out Khan is a long-time associate of Hillary Clinton with a motive to advance her ambitions and thereby his own.  Khan is also an immigration lawyer.  He makes lots of money gaming the system to get green cards for people. The influx of hundreds of thousand of refugees from unknown, unverifiable dung heaps, Clinton’s plan, would channel millions of dollars worth of business to Khan’s law firm.

Okay, show of hands; who doesn’t think the deal from Clinton was, “you give me a good speech and get me some mileage and I will make sure you are overrun with Syrian, Yemeni and Iraqi clients.  We will instruct INS to direct them to you.”

If anyone doubts that, if anyone thinks Khan dragged his wife onto that stage without a solid quid pro quo, you need to go outside and slam your car door on your head several times. It won’t do you any good. But it feels good to picture you doing it.

As for Trump, he was stupid to engage.  But since he can’t help himself, his handlers should have taught him a better approach.  It would have been smarter still if he had waited.  He could have beaten Khan over the head with this information and accused him of whoring his own son’s death for financial gain which, of course, he did!

Gary Johnson, are you listening?  This is your chance. Speak up. Get in the news cycle. Controversy is good, so long as you are on the side of honesty.
